Cyrulik sewilski to popis maestrii kompozytorskiej, melodyjności, dowcipu - o tej operze komicznej można pisać w samych superlatywach. Doskonałe libretto na podstawie komedii Beumarchais’go przekonuje, że wobec siły miłości i kobiecej przebiegłości bezsilne są zazdrość i zbyteczna ostrożność mężczyzn.
Opera Rossiniego pełna jest słynnych muzycznych tematów (Una voce poco fa’, czyli aria o plotce).
W ostatnich spektaklach Cyrulika sewilskiego na scenie Opery Nova (7, 8, 9 grudnia 2018 r.) wystąpili m.in. Ryszard Smęda i Szymon Rona.
Ryszard Smęda jest jedynym solistą, który wykonywał postać Don Bartola podczas premiery w 1987 r. na deskach Teatru Polskiego. Przez 31 lat kreował tę postać niemal w każdym z 84 spektakli (wliczając te, które od 2002 r. grane są na scenie Opery Nova).

Final preparations are underway at Opera Nova for the premiere of Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti, which will inaugurate the Bydgoszcz Opera Festival. Director, set and costume designer THADDEUS STRASSBERGER speaks about his interpretation of one of the most famous bel canto works, his collaboration with the Bydgoszcz company, and the contemporary relevance of Lucia’s story.
